Green Economy Lake County

Building an economy that fosters green economy jobs is critical to sustained job growth in Lake County. Regardless of the economic reasoning, Van Vlissingen and Co. supports sustainable living and working. This week, members of our team participated in the College of Lake County’s (CLC) second annual conference on growing Lake County’s green economy.

This year’s event brought together Lake County’s business, education, government, and non-profit leaders; to focus on local efforts to grow the green economy. The conference’s keynote speaker will be Randy Blankenhorn, executive director of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). Mr. Blankenhorn explored CMAP’s “Go To 2040,” the comprehensive regional plan created to help metro Chicago plan for sustainable growth through the middle of the 21st century.

Our team particularly enjoyed the locally tailored panel discussions and projects, which gave our team specific and insightful steps to improve our buildings and provide for greener corporate life in our office and industrial parks.
